Domaine Ratte | Jura, France
Michel-Henri and Françoise Ratte
Domaine Ratte, led by husband and wife team Michel-Henri and Françoise Ratte, is a natural wine producer from the Arbois region of Jura. In this domain, they specialize in crafting wines with a more traditional approach to the natural wine spectrum.
The estate has 9 hectares of vineyards spread over Les Corvées, Grand Curoulet, Bésivette, Prélevront, la Régole, Clos Maire and la Bergère. The vines come from both Françoise’s parents who have been working the vines organically with biodynamic principes since 1989. Regional grapes like Savagnin, Chardonnay, Trousseau, Ploussard and Pinot Noir are grown at their vineyards.
Today Michel-Henri and Françoise Ratte are working with their son Quentin. All the wines are produced with grapes from their own vineyards. The biodynamic culture is a way for them to combine work in the vineyards with a respect for nature, hence their wines are Demeter certified, a testament to their unwavering commitment to the natural wine cause, embodying the essence of natural winemaking.
