Domaine Geschickt is an exciting producer that has been in biodynamic viticulture since 1998. The domaine was established in the 1950's by Jérôme Geschickt and Bernadette Meyer and came under the control of Christophe Geschickt who introduced biodynamics in 1993 as the means to mange the vineyard. Aurélie Fayolle and her partner Arnaud Geschickt (Christophe Geschickt's son) have been in charge of the winery for the past 10 years, in their familial estate located in Ammerschwihr in Alsace.
With 4 hectares of Grand Cru in Kaefferkopf and the Wineck-Schlossberg, south of Alsace, they try to express them in different ways with their work at the winery. It is their ambition to offer different interpretations of the landscape for your drinking pleasure from wines drunk and shared during joyful moments to the more serious ones, they've got it all.
The Grand Cru Kaefferkopf houses several terroirs like 'Purberg' (chalky) and 'Pfulben' (granitic), while Wineck-Schlossberg (highly granitic) in Katzenthal is one of the smallest and highest Grand Cru of Alsace. The rest of their vines are located in Ammerschwihr and its surrounding villages.
For Racine Wines Co., the beauty of working with Domaine Geschickt cellar is their large cellar which is able to easily accommodate multiple vintages enabling the winery to age wines longer and waiting for the very right moment prior to releasing the wines.
