Saint Jean

Saint Jean

$65.00 Sale Save
This cuvée is named after the plot where there is an oratory named St Jean and built around 1762. This is the last one that leads to the Revest chapel, a historic site in Esparron where a Gallo-Roman villa was established in the 1st century BC.
Interestingly vines were already cultivated and the grapes vinified on site in Roman times. It also served as a trading post on the Silk Road.

Saint Jean is made with 100% full bunch Grenache in concrete tanks before ageing them for 18 months on their lees. Only 2533 bottles were made in 2020.

Myrko Tepus is a young estate established in 2017 with 10 ha of old vines of Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault, Ugni Blanc, Chardonnay and Syrah ranging from 40 to 80 years old in organic farming on the limestone hillsides of northern Provence in the town of Esparron de Pallières at an altitude of 460m at the gateway to the Gorges du Verdon. Being based in the valley, this provides for a very special microclimate which allows the grapes a longer ripening process retaining nice freshness, a key characteristic of Myrko's Wines.
