Canaille 2023
Mai’s debut vintage is already making waves, and honestly, it’s hard to imagine her putting out anything less than stellar. This is Gamay from the granite soils of Southern Beaujolais, and it’s as vibrant as it gets. In the glass, pale ruby. The nose is a fruit parade - wild strawberries, tart raspberries, blackcurrant, and just enough stemmy edge to keep things interesting. Pure energy on the palate. Light, zippy, and driven by a bright acidity. Moderate alcohol keeps it balanced, while the finish just keeps going - juicy, fresh, and begging for another pour.
This is a medium bodied natural red wine.
