Cuvée 1966 Magnum 2022
The vines behind Cuvée 1966 were planted that year by Jean-Michel's father, the same vines he once sold off to the cooperative without knowing what they might become. Now Jean-Michel's son Léo tends and vinifies them, which makes this quietly a wine with three generations of Petit in the glass. Old-vine Chardonnay from Pupillin's limestone-rich soils, aged in wood, rich and precise in equal measure: a creamy depth held in check by real mineral tension. In magnum it has all the more room to unwind slowly. The kind of wine that needs nothing from you except a good glass and some time.
