Deuzmons de Minuit 2023
Mondeuse is a mountain grape which is tannic, dark, and built for cold altitude but in Grégoire's hands it becomes something altogether more lithe.
The fruit for Deuzmons de Minuit comes from a single site in the Combe de Savoie, grown organically on limestone and white marl around the village of Saint-Pierre-d'Albigny.
Harvested by hand, macerated slowly, then aged in old demi-muids that ask nothing of the wine. No additions, nothing removed.
What you get is Mondeuse stripped of theatre: dark cherry, mountain herbs, a spine of mineral grip, and a long, quiet finish. Drink it slightly cool, ideally with food that has some weight to it.
