The name says it all -  feet in the earth.

This is Grégoire’s qvevri wine: four varieties of alpine grapes destemmed and left to macerate for seven months inside Georgian terracotta amphora buried in the cellar floor.

Poulsard carries the lead, soft and mineral while Gamay adds freshness and Mondeuse and Pinot Noir lend structure and depth. The result is earthy and saline, with a core of dark red fruit that builds slowly rather than announces itself.

Give it some air after opening, it’s the type of wine that rewards patience.
