Chaponnieres 2020
Chaponnière is a small, east-facing parcel at the northern tip of the Rully appellation, distinguished by its deep clay-rich soils and gentle slope. David Lefort’s Chardonnay vines, planted around 40 years ago, dig deep into this clay-limestone bedrock, producing a wine with both tension and generosity. The 2020 vintage is marked by wonderful ripeness balanced by a characteristic mineral freshness that defines Rully whites at their best: bright citrus and white stone fruit on the nose, a supple mid-palate with a hint of cream, and a clean, focused finish. Vinified with natural yeasts and no fining or filtration, this is Burgundy as it should be; pure, place-driven and unvarnished.
A beautifully textured natural white wine from one of Burgundy’s most exciting new-generation producers.
