Paradigme 2021

Paradigme is a collaboration between Zulu — the experimental négoce project of Jess Albero and Laurent Pujol — and Roussillon grower François Jaubert, working Grenache Blanc and Gris on the sun-scorched, schist-and-limestone hillsides of Catalonia’s hinterland. The wine captures the mood of its landscape perfectly: pale and slightly hazy, with a mineral, smoke-edged nose opening to stone fruit, dried herbs, and a gentle oxidative note that adds intrigue rather than tiredness. The palate is taut and textured, finishing with elegant bitter almonds and real persistence. Raised without additions in fibreglass tanks, Paradigme lives up to its name — a different way of thinking about white wine from the south of France.
