Pinot Noir 2023
Pinot Noir has quietly become one of the reasons to pay attention to the Jura, and Domaine Ratte are among the growers making that case. Michel-Henri and Françoise farm nine Demeter-certified hectares in Arbois, after twenty-six years of biodynamic work done while their fruit still went to the cooperative. They bottled for themselves from 2015, and their son Quentin is the third generation here. The wine is bright and finely drawn, red fruit with forest floor underneath it, and the acidity that marks everything out of this corner of France.
