Herr Kretz 2021 is one of Andi Mann’s most distinctive and quietly expressive wines, a cuvée that reflects both site and patience rather than overt winemaking gestures.

Sourced from top vineyards from the estate, Herr Kretz is made in selected vintages only when the conditions are aligned to making a true master piece. True to Andi’s approach, intervention is kept to a minimum, allowing texture and balance to emerge naturally over time.

In the glass, Herr Kretz 2021 shows subtle fruit, savoury undertones, and a calm, grounded character. The palate is composed and thoughtful, with fine structure and natural freshness, unfolding gradually rather than all at once.

While enjoyable now, a few years of cellaring will be rewarded, allowing the wine to open up and reveal deeper layers and unexpected nuance.

About Weingut Mann

Founded in the historic wine village of Eckelsheim in Rheinhessen, Weingut Mann carries a legacy rooted in the Mann family’s involvement in viticulture since 1699. Today the estate is led by Andi Mann.

Covering around ten hectares of diverse soils that includes sand, limestone, porphyry, and volcanic influences, the vineyards are farmed organically and with biodynamic principles in mind. Hand harvesting and careful attention to biodiversity reflect Andi’s belief that the health of the vineyard should drive every bottle.

In the cellar, Andi favours minimal intervention: spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, long ageing in large oak barrels, and wines bottled without fining or filtration to capture the character of the site and vintage. Across his range of wines are sessionable rosés, fresh whites and expressive reds. These wines are celebrated for their clarity, mineral energy, and sense of place.
