Qhimmel 2022
Qhimmel reflects a wine that feels lifted, open, and quietly expansive. This cuvée captures Andi Mann’s instinctive and intuitive approach to winemaking.
Grauburgunder or Pinot Gris sourced from organically farmed vineyards in Eckelsheim, Rheinhessen, fermented on skin contact with indigenous yeasts and aged for 12 months in neutral oak barrels shows the minimal intervention approach to making this wine. Allowing for freshness and texture to emerge naturally.
Named after the local dialect for Himmel, sky or heavens as the name suggests, Qhimmel leans towards lightness and clarity rather than weight or force.
In the glass, it shows bright orchard fruits, ripe tropical fruit, and a gentle herbal lift, supported by a clean line of acidity. The palate is open and fluid, with an easy rhythm and a finish that feels airy and refreshing.
Qhimmel 2022 is best enjoyed with a sense of ease: a wine for open tables, long afternoons, and moments that don’t need overthinking.
This is a light bodied natural skin contact wine.
