A captivating wine that needs a bit of air before it starts to blossom. The nose leads with hay, wildflowers, and fresh pear, gradually revealing deeper notes of honey and crushed herbs. On the palate, it’s taut and mineral-driven - citrus, orchard fruit, and a touch of sea salt, all wrapped in bright acidity and a gentle tannic frame. There’s a savoury, skin-contact edge that adds grip and character without overwhelming. Long, textural finish with real energy. A layered, thoughtful expression of Silvaner.

With backgrounds in Jewish studies and philosophy Melanie and Michael worked for science publishers in Germany and the UK for several years before going back to the family-winery founded in 1843. With the 2013 vintage 2Naturkinder was born.

All the grapes are hand-picked and come from about seven hectares of organically farmed vineyards in Franconia, Germany. There is no use of any additives at any stage of the winemaking, making these wines truly natural wines.

The wines are aged in the cellar for at least one year and often longer.
