Ormiale 2021
Bordeaux, France · Red Wine · Medium Bodied
Fabrice Domercq is an artist from Paris. Jasper Morrison is an industrial designer from London. They have run Ormiale together since 2007, now based in the heart of Saint-Émilion, farming Demeter-certified vines and working the way almost nobody in Bordeaux works. Their stated principle is that the hand should stay present at every stage, and that technology gets replaced by touch, time and terroir. Grapes are destemmed by hand, nothing is added, and the raising is watched rather than managed. What comes out is Bordeaux with the armour removed: red and dark berries, a graphite edge, a fine savoury grip and a freshness the appellation rarely bothers with.
