Radicalement Blanc 2024

The Radicalement wines are the direct ones in the range at Les Vignes du Fresche, where Marc Houtin and Alexandre Forge have been since 2022. Twenty-four hectares in a single parcel on the schist plateau above the Loire at La Pommeraye, farmed organically for more than twenty years, with biodiversity and cover cropping treated as part of the work rather than a marketing line. Anjou Noir schist gives whites a particular tension and this one has it: citrus and orchard fruit, a chalky mid-palate, and a saline mineral finish that runs long. Picked by hand, fermented naturally, bottled with very little sulphur.
